Open for exchange
Exchange dates Duration
August 15, 2019 - August 31, 2020 2 weeks

Our vacation 2019 is yet full booked :-). But we are retired so any date after 15 aug '19 can be discussed.

House in center of Brugge near Beguinage. Also very close to First World War memorials area. Second house possible near Bruges with garden.

Dear Home-exchangers,
We can offer the choice between two houses.

Luc's house (see pictures ) :
His large 19th century classical house is located in the immediate neighbourhood of the medieval highlights of Brugge : the Beguinage, St.-Johns Hospital, Our Lady's Church, museums and canals. http://foto.brugge.be/slides/slides.htm
There is a large living room , a sitting room, a fully equipped kitchen and a closet on the ground floor.
On the first floor 2 bedrooms with double beds and on the second floor 1 bedroom with double bed and an individual sanitary cel with shower. The beautiful art-deco bathroom on the first floor is furnished with a double lavabo-set, bath, shower and toilet.
At the back of the house is a small but adorable little garden with a sunny terrace that makes the link to a private garage for 1 car.
The house is equipped with all modern comfort

Filip and Ingrid's house
Our 1930's house is in the middle of the country-side village of Loppem, close to the city of Brugge (6 km).
At the rear is a large and adorable garden (see picture) with terraces, a garden house, and a rear gate wich leads to an adjacent playing area. From there departs a walking path towards the local beautiful neo-gothic castle and park, and adjacent tennis-club in the former vegetable garden of the castle.
On the ground floor is a sitting room with open fire, a living room, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen.
On the first floor we have the master bedroom with double bed, a room with a staple- bed and office, and the bathroom with shower, bath, double lavabo-set and toilet.
On the second floor you will find another large double bedroom.

The choice between the two houses :
If the choice seems difficult to you, we think that for real town-lovers Luc's house is the best setting. If you have children and you prefer a countryside setting, then maybe Filip and Ingrid's house is most convenient. But the choice is entirely up to you. Please feel free to ask for more pictures from Loppem.

About Our Family

On the picture: Luc, Louise, Laura and Ingrid.

Our "home-exchange-family" consists of Filip (62), Ingrid (65), our children Laura (28) and Louise (25), and our brother in law Luc (63). Filip is a retired manager of a international rolling stock factury, Ingrid is a retired architect and did work at the Department of Monuments and Townrenovation in Brugge. Luc is a retired draftsman.
As Luc happens to be a single, our families have taken the habit of travelling together. That is why we can propose choice between two houses in exchange for your house.

Depending on the timing, our daughters do travel with us (doesn't happen that often anymore) or do drop in for a few day's, or are staying home :-(

Depending on the destination, the wishes of possible H.E. partners, the timing, ....we would like to bring our (well trained) dog Pipa. In the positive case that we may bring our dog, we do keep her in a bench (big foldable cage), that we will bring along.

Lifestyle

We do love traveling (of course, that’s obvious as home exchangers), walking, movie’s, all kind of music, old buildings, modern buildings, modern art, musea ……good food.
Although retired, Ingrid is still very active as president of "The Bruges Foundation". A trust striving voor the conservation of old buildings in Bruges. Picture herewith is from a cloisters tree yard.
