House in village near historic town of Colchester, Great Britain

We have a three bedroom detached house over 2 floors with 2 lounges, a music room, study, large dining/kitchen, one bath/shower room, another shower room and a large garden with two patios with table and chairs for outdoor eating. It is possible to use free wi-fi. We have Freeview HD TV, hi-fi music system, and a good selection of DVD's, CD's, books and board games for you to use during your stay.

Please note our house is not suitable for small children.

Our house is in Fingringhoe, a pretty village about 4 miles from the historic city of Colchester which is Britain's oldest recorded town and was one of the most important settlements in Roman Britain.

At the front of our house we have views across fields towards the river estuary and at the back of the house we have views of pasture with cows and sheep and large area of woodland. There are good walks you can do in the countryside straight from the house. Our home is easy walking distance of the village pub (which has good food and a pleasant beer garden with good views across the Roman River Valley). The area we live in is quiet and peaceful and we have friendly neighbours.

The bus to Colchester town centre stops outside our house. Colchester is a short drive of about 15 minutes. It is 6 miles, 20 minutes by car to Colchester train station - with very regular trains to London, Ipswich and Norwich. The train to London takes about 50 minutes, so it's easy to do day trips to London. Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and Canterbury are all accessible.
