Flat in SOLNA, Sweden

Our home is a 3 room apartment located on the 2nd floor of a 3 story building. Our building is one of several in an area constructed in 1954's, designed by the Swedish architects Backström and Renius, known for their great planning and great ability to let in light to living spaces.
We bought the apartment in 2008 and since then we have totally renovated the entire apartment with a new bath, separate wc , kitchen and new floors and wallcoverings in the livingroom and bedrooms.
There are 2 bedrooms, one with 2 singel beds (2 x 90cm) and one with a queen size bed (140cm), a living room with dining area and kitchen with all the modern equipment you could need for easy cooking and place to have an informal breakfast or dinner.
In the basement is a laundry room with modern washing machines and a dryer to book when needed. Also in the basemant is a bicycle room with our 3 bicycles to use as you wish.
The area, Bergshamra, is a penninsula between two bodies of water and is within the township of Solna. Bergshamra  has a small town center with a food store, a pharmacy, several service shops, a pizzeria and restaurant. This center is only 1 walking minute from the apartment and affords also a station of the underground, with only 12 minutes to the heart of Stockholm.
Just to the north is one of the Royal Castles of the King of Sweden, Ulriksdal, and is fortunately unused by the royal family. This means that the grounds and surrounding forested areas are open to the public for recreation such as picnics, jogging trails or bathing excursions in the bay of  Edsviken. We reach the surrounding garden in about 5-7 walking minutes.
To the south of Bergshamra is the bay, Bunnsviken, part of The Royal National City Park, including the wonderful botanical gardens of Bergianska. This treasure, also perfect for picnics or bathing excursions is just a 15-20 minute walk away.
On a larger note, Stockholm´s archipelago is avalible to visit by boats from the center of Stockholm, where day tours are possible or even longer trips, with stays in hostels or even tents, using the Swedish right to use open landscapes, Allemansrätt.
2 day-trips to Helsiniki or Tallin are also possible with oceanliners, Siljaline or Vikingline.

Our Neighbourhood

We live in the city of Solna just at the Stockholm city limit, and our local area is called Bergshamra. In Begrshamra there is a little town center with food market, pharmacy, restaurants ec. Here you also have the Metro station 'Bergshamra'From where we live we have easy access to some great open air areas, that in the summar can be used for walking, leisure time of all kind, and where you also in the summer will find some nice restarurants and cafess.Stockholm offers you during the entire summer a wide variety of entertainments and typical outdoor events that are so easy to arrange in the summer. But there are also some traditional spots worth visiting, depending on your interests and priorities; like the wellknown outdoor museum Skansen, the Old Town , the warship Wasa, that spent 350 year in the mud just in the middle of the Stockholm harbour, etc
