House in Heerlen, Netherlands
My house is a corner house that lies on a quiet road where no unnecessary traffic passes by. It has a decently sized backyard that has the sun shining on it in the morning and half of the afternoon. The whole house and better part of the garden have Wi-Fi acces.
On the ground floor you can find:
- the toilet
- a bathroom with walk-in shower
- a storage room where the washing machine and dryer drum are located
- the main bedroom with a 160x200 bed
- a dining area that is connected to an open kitchen. The dining table sits 6-8 people. The kitchen has four gas pits, a fridge, freezer, an oven and a dishwasher. You can also find a coffee machine and other kitchen devices.
On the first floor you can find:
- second bedroom with a 160x200 bed
- living area with couch and television (netflix available)
The nearest busstop is 5-10 minutes away. The nearest train station is also walking distance away (10 min). From here you can easily reach the trainstation Heerlen from where you can acces the rest of the Netherland and even Germany and Belgium by train.
The Brunssummerheide is a sloping nature landscape with many trails for hiking and running. It is bisected by a brook called Roode Beek (Red Brook). The Brunssumerheide is a protected nature preserve.
Brunssum is also close to a number of other countries than the Netherlands

- Border of Belgium is a 15 minute drive (City of Genk 30 min)

Parkstad offers one of the most spectacular public golf courses of the Netherlands. Eighteen holes in a hilly terrain, a challenge to golf devotees. In this nature reserve, extending as far as the Schinveld woodland, walkers, cyclists, joggers, riders and skiers can relax and enjoy their leisure time. Working group Art on the Street
Scattered all over Brunssum - in the city park, the shopping precinct and in housing estates - visitors can enjoy the sight of some 120 exemples of public art works and street monuments, varying from early 20th century architectional designs to modern sculptures. A group of enthusiastic art lovers and volunteers see to it that the collection is properly maintained and is instrumental in the acquisition of new works. Ilse Frankenthal descended from a family of music editors in Leipzig. As a Jewish refugee she settled in Brunssum after 1945. She wholeheartedly advised and supported artists of all sorts of schools. Her indispensable authentic love of art stood her in good stead when organizing exhibitions of artistic expression. Since her death, in 1987, her work has been continued by friends, joined in a
. Every third year this foundation awards a graphic art price to young artists from the Meuse/Rhine Euregion. The jury is made up of Dutch, Belgian and German artists.
