Comfortable, warm and cosy townhouse in a leafy suburb, close to all amenities.
Our home is warm and cosy and after being away for the day or longer periods we love coming back to it. It is our little haven in a big city. It was totally renovated 4 years ago so everything is in good condition. It is on two levels with stairs. The sitting room, dining room, study, kitchen, laundry and separate toilet are on the ground floor. The study has a wireless printer but you will need your own computer. Wifi will be available. The kitchen is fully equipped with a double oven etc. Upstairs are the bedrooms, bathrooms and a balcony. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom, the second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has a king single. All the beds are comfortable and firm and there are spacious built in wardrobes in every room with lots of space for our guests' belongings. Our townhouse is the last in a row of four so we have the advantage of extra parking. We park right outside our front door and after 3 small steps we are in the house. All windows have pleasant views of trees and mostly surrounded by single homes with large gardens.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Melbourne Tullamarine - 30 kms
We live in Hawthorn East which s one of Melbourne's most desirable suburbs. In the past it has been voted Melbourne's most liveable suburb in the World's most liveable city..... Within a 5 minute walk you can get to public transport. We have 3 tram lines very near and a train station 15 minutes away which you can get to on the tram if 15 min walk is too far. Within 10 minutes you can walk to a great shopping district, "Camberwell Junction" which is full of shops, cafes, restaurants, medical facilities and a great 8-9 screen art deco cinema, the famous Rivoli. The nearest supermarket is a 10 minute walk away. The suburb is full of lovely homes with large gardens, a lot of them from the Victorian and Edwardian eras and is very pleasant for walking. If you enjoy walking there are lots of parks near by. The city centre is a 25 minute tram ride away (maybe slightly longer during the rush hour). Melbourne itself is a lovely city where there's always something happening. So many suburbs with varied character, multicultural, great restaurants, art galleries, the Yarra River and so on.

About Our Family
David and I are a couple in our mid sixties who love travelling and home exchanging. We have been exchanging and hosting since the year 2000. We have been living in Melbourne for 9 years to date, coming from Wellington, NZ where we also spend lots of time. I retired 2 years ago, my last job being an Economics Lecturer at Trinity College, the University of Melbourne. David is one of the executive directors at the Victoria State Department of Education. We have one daughter (29) who is currently teaching English in Japan. Most of the time it is only the two of us travelling but every now and then we are joined by our daughter or close friends and family.
During our time of home exchanging we have formed lasting friendships with many of our exchangers and still keep in touch.
We love going out with friends, movies, restaurants, cafes, shows and of course making travel plans. Home exchanging has opened up a new world for us! We love it!!
