We'ld love to do a home-swap to Italy or southern France in autum 2019.

Cosy familyhouse with little garden close to town and forrest

We live in a very charming semi-detached househalf, build in 1927, latest renovations carried out through the past years.
Even thought we live only about 15 minutes walk from the city centre, it is a peaceful and friendly neighbourhood, also closely related to a couple of parks, lokal centres and marketplaces, even the forrest is in comfortable walking distance. Thanks to a broad offer on public transport and every-day-shopping- the intrastructure of our quarter is excellent. For most matters within the city or even the vicinity you may well choose a bike or even walk, rathen than take the car.
Aachen (with appr. 250.000 inhabitants), the capital of the francs empire in the 8.th century, now hosts of one of the most important technical universities in Germany, is a very historic and due to appr. 45.000 students also very modern city in the very centre of Europe. Its cathedral, the Dom, e.g dates from 800 p.c. and is Germans first UNESCO Heritage. Aachen is also very well known for its hot thermal springs, the CHIO (Concours Hippique International Officiel), even very good shopping facilities and the vicinity to the neighboring countries Belgium and The Netherlands. The cities of Cologne (Germany), Liège (Begium) and Maastricht (Netherlands) are about an hour away by train or car and it takes less than half an hour to cross the border to Belgium or the Netherlands. There are also widely stretched forrests such as the "Nationalpark Eifel" or the "Hohe Venn" that may invite you to a daily naturetrip along small riverstretches in a hilly naturesetting.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Düsseldorf - one hour

Our house is part of a garden settlement that was build in the early 20th century. Nowadays it is still situated in a quiet neighbourhood but also in walking or bike distance to a minor centre with shopping facilities and cafés, to the main train station or even the very centre of Aachen with its bright variety of cultural and shopping offers.
On the other hand it is only a short walk into the greenery and parks and further on into one of Aachens major forests that strech as far as Belgium and the Netherlands.
If you like beeing outside, you'll like it!
