Rural retreat in scenic County Waterford
"Tigh a' tSrutha" is an inviting, well-presented house in An Sean-Phobal/ Old Parish, nestled between the coastal villages of An Rinn / Ring and Ardmore in County Waterford, Ireland. This rural location lies approximately seven miles from the town of Dungarvan to the east and thirteen miles from Youghal to the west. The property boasts homely living for six guests and enjoys a close proximity to wonderful countryside and coastline, making it an ideal escape to enjoy all-year-round. The detached property has three bedrooms: downstairs double bedroom and twin bedroom and upstairs double bedroom. Downstairs has bathroom with a wet room layout for those with limited mobility. Upstairs has an en-suite shower and toilet.
The open plan living area consists of kitchen, dining and living room areas. A sunroom at the front of the house also has a dining table and relaxing lounge furniture.
The locality is served by a local-link transport service but a car is necessary in order to get around in comfort as the area is in the middle of the countryside.

About the neighborhood
A short journey to the coast will lead you towards Ringville, a charming village with a pleasant selection of amenities as it looks over the beautiful harbour over at the town of Dungarvan.This house is located in the Waterford Gaeltacht (Irish speaking) area.A 15 minute drive will transport you to several sandy beaches at, Ballyquin, Ballymacart, The Conniger, Baile na nGall and Helvick.Ring/An Rinn (5 km) Ardmore (14 km), Youghal (23 km) and Dungarvan (13 km).The recently opened Waterford Greenway can be commenced just outside the town and bicycles are available to rent locally.Both Cork City and Waterford City are within a 1 hour drive.This location is within easy access to golf, hill-walking, cycling and horse-riding.The picturesque village of Ring / An Rinn, is well known for the establishment of Coláiste na Rinne (Irish Language College) at the beginning of the twentieth century.Also worth a visit is Sólás na Mara seaweed baths, a modern health care centre and café at Helvick head pier.The historic village of Ardmore, famous for St. Declan’s round tower of ancient times, and nowadays brimming with quality crafts shops and cafes and renowned for the 5-star Cliff Hotel including a Michelin star restaurant.The cliff walk here is beautiful.Dungarvan town itself is a great shopping town and boasts many fine eating establishments, chief amongst them the renowned Tannery Townhouse and Cookery School and The Moorings.Enjoy scenic walking and cycling from the door of the property.Old Parish / An Sean-Phobal is a wonderful base from which to explore this marvelous rural region

My sister and I had a wonderful trip to Donostia. Inazio was excellent to communicate with prior to our visit. He assisted with identifying the bus transfer from Bilbao airport. He met us at the apartment when we arrived and showed us everything. He generously left provisions for our stay. We felt extremely welcome and at ease - as if we were visiting a friend's place. The location of the apartment itself suited us to perfection. All of the locals we met were friendly and courteours. My sister attended the Bruce Springsteen concert and was able to walk to the stadium (about 30 mins). We were less than 10 minutes to La Concha beach and had a swim day each day, even the morning before our departure as it was so convenient. The area where the apartment is was very quiet at nighttime and lively during the day. It felt very safe to walk around at night time. We could not praise our visit highly enough. I look forward to welcoming Inazio to my home in the future.
Everything about the exchange with Eibhlín went very smoothly and communication was fantastic. Eibhlín went out of her way to make us feel welcome and to provide us with plenty of information about her home and about the local area. The house is bright, spacious and warm with lovely views across the countryside. It's ideally located to have some peace and quiet while being very accessible for the beautiful southern coast of Ireland. Dungarven is just 20 minutes away and there are plenty of nice eateries there. We had the pleasure of Eibhlín staying with us when she stayed in our house. She was a pleasure to have stay with us and is a lovely, warm and friendly person. She took great care of our house during her stay.
Our exchange with Paul went very well. He is very courteous, a prompt replier and very helpful in answering queries regarding the house and location. The house itself is stunning, extremely tastefully renovated and furnished. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchen very clean. The proximity to Dublin city is very convenient with regular buses and a taxi costs just under €20 from city centre at night time. We also had a safe place to park our cark for the duration. I can only highly recommend Paul for the welcome extended to his home and for providing everything we might need during our stay. It felt like we were staying in a friend's house.
It was a pleasure to exchange with Marina. Her home was perfect, very clean and comfortable. She left a generous amount of food for us on arrival. Her directions were excellent. Overall a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend her as a host. It felt like I was visiting a friend's house. I am very thankful for the welcome Marina extended.
