House in Furulund, South Sweden

Mats (70) is a retired computer engineer and Ingela (69) is a physiotherapist and ergonomist.

The house, build 1973, is situated in a typical suburban area with many similar houses. The area is calm with little traffic.

The house has four bedrooms with 4-5 beds.  There are two bathrooms, one on each floor. The total area of the house is 165 m2. Supermarket and restaurants are available in Kävlinge (5 km). There are nice green areas around the village along the river Kävlingeån. The village Furulund is situated in the province of Skåne in south Sweden.
The shopping mall "Lund Nova" is within 8 km with more than 60 shops of every kind.

There are several interesting cities within a short distance from the house. The major cities in the area are: Malmö (250.000 inh) and Lund (100.000 inh), a historical city with University and 11th century cathedral, an open-air museum "Kulturen" and shopping.  Copenhagen is a charming city with lot's of people strolling up and down the pedestrian street "Ströget" in the summer. The city has many interesting art museums. Loisiana is a famous museum of modern art, is situated on the Danish coast, north of Copenhagen. The museum can be reached by car or by local train. The Copenhagen Card gives you access to almost all museums at one fixed low price.
The distance to the nearest beach is only 10 km, where you will find a small harbour and a sand beach. The south-coast and east-coast of Skåne have wide sand beaches with plenty of space for everyone.
The landscape in Skåne is typically a farming area with open fields, but there is also wild nature with cliffs, lakes, beech-forests, big pine-forests in the northern part. Canoeing is possible from several places in the rivers or lakes. Hiking is possible on different levels on marked paths. Good and separate bicycle roads as well. There are also several Golf-courses of high standard in the area.

Local transports
It is easy to travel by car in Sweden since the roads are very good and the traffic is low. The local bus stops only 50 m from the house. There are local trains with a special “summer-ticket” that can take you in one hour to all cities of Skåne. The Öresund Bridge connects South Sweden to Denmark. Local trains depart from Lund/Malmö every 20 minutes for Copenhagen. With the local trains you can go from the nearest village Kävlinge to Copenhagen in Denmark in less than one hour.  The train stops at the international airport Kastrup in Copenhagen, so it is very easy to go from the airport to our village, in case you are arriving to the area by air. The 24-hour ticket "Around Öresund" can be used to travel by local train, ferry (Helsingborg-Helsingör) and Öresund Bridge and includes all local transports around Öresund.

Seeing more of Scandinavia
If your are interested in visiting other Scandinavian countries you can go by an overnight-cruise from Copenhagen, to Oslo the capital of Norway.
The express train takes you to Stockholm in 4h 30min.  You can reach Gothenburg by train or car in less than three hours. Hotel packages are available to reduced price in the summer period in Sweden and Denmark.
