Our Home overlooking the Lane Cove River in Sydney

Our Home is situated on the Lane Cove River with a north easterly aspect, it is a very sunny house. We have a boatshed  with a dinghi  and barbecue facilities. Sydney with all its tourist attractions is a 5 minute bus and 20 minute ferry ride away. We also have Lane Cove National Park  which is about 10 kilometres to the north. Manly Beach, a surfing beach can be visited by catching 2 ferries or 2 buses. There are a lot of things to see and do and of course all parts of Australia can be accessed by flights out of Sydney.
There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with double beds and one with two very small singles.

The bathrooms were both renovated in the last 5 years and the kitchen is now renovated although the photo is still the old one. Wifi comes into the house and of course there is TV. We have only free to air programmes but these are quite good in Australia.........well not great around Christmas.
Our car, which is available to you is a 2007 Toyota Corolla Ascent in the station wagon style. A very reliable car in good condition.
Our air conditioning is reverse cycle so that you need not be cold or too hot. Meals can be eaten on the front verandah overlooking the river in the warm weather, it is very pleasant.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Sydney - 20 klms.

A quiet garden suburb about 12 klms. from Sydney city. Walking the local streets is always very pleasant and people generally speaking are quite friendly.
There are about 8 cafes and restaurants within walking distance, 3 a short walk from the top of our street. There is a local pub and small shopping centre including a butcher, a fish shop and a small supermarket, 5 coffee shops and 3 restaurants, a twenty minute walk to the village.
There are three churches all within walking distance, a Catholic and an Anglican. The third church seems to be used mainly for weddings.
The ferry is our greatest pleasure as it makes going into the city for the opera house, movies and shopping so easy and it connects you to public transport to all areas. We do love it here and one of our neighbours were the neighbours of David's parents who built this beautiful home in the sixties, we moved in in 2002. Our two boys spent a lot of time down here on the river with their grandparents wind surfing, water skiing and sailing. They are now both over 40 and have a great love for the water.
