Holidays in Holland
Ons huis ligt centraal in Tilburg. Vlakbij het centrum en de openbaar vervoersvoorzieningen. Gunstig gelegen in Zuid-Nederland. Steden als Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Antwerpen en Maastricht zijn in maximaal anderhalf uur te bereiken. Dichterbij huis liggen Breda, Heusden en Den Bosch. een andere kwaliteit van Tilburg is dat het vlakbij prachtige natuurgebieden ligt: de Loonse en Drunense Duinen, de Oisterwijkse bossen en vennen, de Kampina en de Utrecht. Ideaal voor wandelaars en fietsers. Kunstliefhebbers kunnen hun hart ophalen in het museum De Pont (moderne kunst/Tilburg), het Textielmuseum en het Van Abbe museum (moderne kunst/Eindhoven). Attractiepark De Efteling en dierentuin Beekse Bergen zijn vlakbij. In Tilburg zelf is in juli 10 dagen lang de grootste kermis van Benelux te bezoeken.

Our house is situated in the centre of Tilburg, near city-centre and the railwaystation. Tilburg is in the south of Holland, near the Belgium border and has a lot to offer: Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Antwerpen, Amsterdam en Maastricht are easy to reach. Nice, smaller and historic cities as Heusden, Den Bosch and Breda are nearby. Tilburg is surrounded by the most beautiful natureparcs: Kampina, Loonse en Dunes, the forest and lakes of Oisterwijk. For art-lovers we have the museum of modern art De Pont (just around the corner) in Tilburg and The Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. The Textielmuseum shows Tilburgs' history in textile-Industry. Your kids Will love attractiepark De Efteling and wildlife-zoo Beekse Bergen. In july we have the biggest fair of ten Benelux, for ten days.

Tilburg has a lot to offer. Here are some possibilities:
-The city is surrounded bij nature spots, easy to reach by bike, car and even on foot. Nice to hike, bike or spend the day relaxing.
-For art lovers there's Textile museum and De Pont (modern art). Nearby: Van Abbe museum (Eindhoven).
-Tilburg is inspirering if you're interested in urban development. It developed itself from different villages dominated by textile industry into a modern urban city.
-Interesting cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerpen, etc are easy to reach by car and train.
-If you come with (small) children, there are also a lot of possibilities: swimming, themepark de Efteling, a Zoo, a Maze, boat rental, nature playgrounds, etc.
-Going to the Dutch beaches is doable from here. It's an 90 minutes drive but a great daytrip is garanteed.

Our exchange was lovely from start to finish . Tilburg is a lovely city with lots to do we are a large family and had a wonderful time . The house was lovely in a lovely area with nice neighbours Would recommend
We had a great exchange with the Kennedy family from Kilkenny. Their home is very convenient. Kilkenny is a beautiful historical city in the south of Ireland and a good spot to explore the area. Emma and David were very helpful in helping us out with (touristical) info from the local perspective. It was a wonderful experience and we fell in love with Ireland. We'll be back.

We've had a great homeswap with Anne-Laure and her family. They have a lovely house with a garden (in Paris, imagine!). From there, It's very easy to visit Paris. Anne-Laure was very helpfull sharing info with us about Paris and environment. This brought us also to the non-tourist-areas. It was nice to combine Paris with the beautful spots nearby, as Versailles! We had a great time in Paris!
