The Beaches in Toronto, Canada

We live in a lovely home in "The Beaches" neighbourhood of Toronto.  It is a wonderful place to live...friendly, quiet, safe, transit-accessible, walking distance to many shops and restaurants, close to the boardwalk and beaches. Downtown Toronto's cultural, entertainment, and sports venues are just 15 minutes away. Our home has an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a queen-size bed and walk-in shower/spa; the guest bedroom also has a queen -size bed, and a bathroom with a jet-spa tub. The lower level, renovated in 2018, has two bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower. The house has a deep front porch with armchairs and lounge, plus a very private backyard for relaxing, BBQ's, eating outside, and gardening in the summer.

About Our Family

I am a professional woman in my late-40's. I work as a business consultant for non-profit organizations.

I enjoy nature, and frequently engage in walking, hiking, biking, and Nordic skiing, both here in Toronto and in nearby areas. I also enjoy gardening...classical music, jazz, ballet...museums and art galleries...cooking, baking, and wine...and reading.

I live with my partner, Ricardo, who is an energy-sector journalist originally from Brazil.

Lifestyle

I have been an Intervac member since my first exchange in 2005, to Scotland for 3 weeks. This was followed by a 3 week exchange in 2007 to the mountains in North Carolina.  In July 2011 I exchanged to Cardiff, Wales for 3 weeks. In summer 2013, I spent 3 weeks in Sweden, and summer 2014, I spent 3 weeks in south-west Germany. And in 2016 I spent two wonderful weeks in Paris. As well, I've had numerous simultaneous and non-simultaneous shorter term exchanges in Canada and the USA. I have been fortunate to have great exchange partners for all of these exchanges.

Since Toronto has two convenient international airports, it is easy for us to travel to most locations. Please be in touch if you have interest in visiting Toronto!
