Drammen, Norway

We live in an urban apartment in the middle of Drammen, with everything we like nearby, such as the modern Union district, shops, restaurants, Bragernes Torg (market place), the train station, museums, hiking areas with great scenery and much more. From our balcony we have a beautiful view over the Drammen river, and at hills and forests.

The apartment is small and compact, but has everything you need, included a well equipped kitchen. There are to Murphy beds in the bedroom. They can get put away during daytime to give space for a foldable table that we set up to do various hobbies, puzzles, etc. In the living room it's possible for a third person to sleep on the couch.

The large balcony has sliding glass panels that can be opened or closed. It's very relaxing sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view or making a barbecue with the electrical grill. There is a big garden/lawn between ours and the next building. We're never really there, because there are so many other nice outdoor areas in Drammen, but it's nice to sit there and enjoy the lawn.

The apartment is not safe for small children under the age of three years, but older children are welcome. We have quite a few board games (no toys) and you can watch family films on Netflix. There is a large and exciting playground approx. 350 m from our apartment, and there are plenty of family friendly things to do in Drammen.

The area where we live is safe and no unauthorized persons have access to the building. We have also our own private parking space. You will hardly hear anything from our neighbors, very little from traffic, but there may be some noise from goods trains passing by.

There is enough storage for your clothes etc. in the flat, and we have also a storage room in a separate building next to the parking space. There you can store your luggage if you want.

We expect our exchange partners to follow the house rules we have in the building. This means no loud music or parties, and no smoking both inside the apartment and on the balcony.
