Apartment in the historical heart of Bruges
Apartement 105 m² with unique view on the Groenerei-canal. Fish market, Burg and Market Square nearby. Livingroom 5mx5m, kitchen, bathroom, 1 bedroom double bed and 1 room (bureau) with couch/bed for 1 person, terrace in the back on the south.
Hilde originates from Bruges and knows all the (little) secrets of this city, that is well known for its medieval buildings, its restaurants, its museums, its beers and its chocolates. (www.visitbruges.be/en)
Apart from the attractiveness of Bruges itself, visits to the coast (25 km), Ghent (50 km, 30 min by train), Antwerp and Brussels (100 km, 1h by train) are obvious. Amsterdam (200 km) and Paris (250 km) are nearby also. Railway station 15 min walk away, with good direct connections to Ghent, Antwerp, Brussels and Ostend, but use of pur car is no problem.

The Groene Rei is one of the most beautiful canalstreets in the heart of the historical city of Bruges. It is a cobbled dead end street with no through traffic. Musea, shops, the market square with the belfry are a couple of minutes away. More information and pictures on www.visitbruges.be

About Our Family
We are a Intervac-member since 1986, when we did our first exchange with people from Portland, Oregon. Since then we did some 15 swaps.
I'm Rik, retired since 09/01/2016, former journalist/editor-in-chief and director of a museum, still writing columns and books and giving speeches. Hilde, studied tourism, works in a day care center for children and is crazy about cooking and about her hometown Bruges.
We have two daughters, Maud and Andrea, both living in Brussels.
In 2014, we moved to Bruges, where Hilde originates from en where we lived already from 1980 tot 1991.
Lifestyle
We are interested in culture, gastronomy, hiking and doing trips with our bikes. There is a upright Yamaha-piano in the livingroom.
