Bourges, European Capital of Culture in 2028
The house is situated in BOURGES, 2 hours south of Paris. It's a medieval town, with a famous cathedral, not far from the Loire castles.
The region is also the heart of France Vineyard (Sancerre, Menetou Salon....)
The house is located in a quiet area. There is a small garden and a terrace just near the kitchen, where you can take your meals in summer.
Behind the house, you can have a walk or ride with the bikes along the "Berry waterway".
At 5 minutes walk you have a supermarket, a baker, a butcher, the post office, banks, a hairdresser, ...
At 5 minutes by car you have more supermarkets and more shops.

My name's Jean-Marc, 65 years old, I was a teacher in primary school and I'm now retired (since the 1st of november 2024). My 2 sons, Remi and Adrien are both adults now (29 and 31 years old) and are off travelling the world themselves. Occasionally, they spend their holidays with me.
The exchange will take place without my wife, Beatrice, who died 2 years ago. Together, we have had pleasant house exchanges in Sweden (x2), Canada (Québec and British Colombia), Finland, Spain, Deutschland (x2), Iceland, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Poland, Greece, Bruges, London and Amsterdam.
I don't smoke and I don't drink alcohol !
I have no more pet.

AU08039A very comfortable home in Bourges with all the appliances and comforts you need. Close to the centre of historic medieval Bourges with it's marvellous Gothic style Cathedral and local produce markets. We also did a car exchnage which meant we could visit lots (and lots) of amazing castles and museums in the surrounding contryside. Jean-Marc has left lots of information for us and also arranged for some friends to meet with us and share some hospitality. We enjoyed this very much. We also met Jean-Marc on our last night in Bourges, when he returned from Australia. We had much to talk about and now consider Jean-Marc to be one of our friends that we hope to see again the next time we visit that area of France.
